Wild Black Cod (Sablefish) Fillet Steaks

  • Each pack contains two skin on black cod fillet steaks
  • Best black cod recipe: Miso marinated black cod
  • A 320g pack would be enough for two mains

This is unquestionably one of the finest fish in the sea - its high oil content making for a fabulous in-mouth experience. Also known as sablefish, black cod comes from fisheries in Alaska and Canada which are a fascinating 30-year morality tale in sustainable fishing. You can read this story here.

These steaks are prime oblong mid-fillet steaks and should be 100% boneless. Obviously the most popular way to serve black cod is in a miso marinade, however if you wanted something a bit less mainstream and no less delicious, try making a cumin crust.

How you've been using our black cod fillet steaks...

  • "Now these were the real deal, poached in a recipe with broccoli, garlic, rosemary and sautéed potatoes. Fish was a mouth sensation"
  • "...Cooked it following a recipe online for Nobu's miso black cod and (unbelievably!) it tasted exactly like the restaurant version!"
  • "Really nice flavour with just simple pan frying!"
