Wild British Half Shell King Scallops

Two for the price of one?! The dish and the meal, together! You can cook the scallop in the half shell - the shell acts as a small dish and stands up well to the heat. Chop up your favourite ingredients - we would recommend thyme, lemon juice, butter and some garlic - then grill. The juices all mix together to cook the scallop in a nice sauce. Cooking scallops in the half shell work well when grilled and even when placed directly on some warm embers of a fire! Keep the shells to use over and over again.
What weight of scallop meat do they contain?
The weights given include the shell. A large scallop shell weighs about 60grams. A small one about 40 grams. So for instance a 550g pack will contain about 250grams of scallop meat (40g each - quite a good size).
